Seasons and Months of the Year
Today we have been learning about the months of the year!
First we sang a song about the months and we know there are 12 months of the year.
They are January, February, March, April, May, June, July, August, September, October, November and December.
We know which months match to the seasons Spring, Summer, Autumn and Winter.
We were able to put our names on a balloon that was the month of our birthday.
September is a very busy month for birthdays in P1/2!
What we learned…
I liked finding out when the birthdays are – Riley
I liked finding out there was 12 months of the year – Lauren

Superstars at Symmetry
This week we have been learning all about Symmetry.
We want to share what we have learned…
We were using the computer to sort shapes into Symmetrical and Not Symmetrical.
I liked it, it was very fun – Lauren
For this game you had to roll the dice and see the shape it landed on. Then you took the mirror to check if it was symmetrical or not symmetrical. If it was you could put a counter on it.
I liked getting points and using the counters – Ethan
I liked using the mirror to see if the shape looked the same – Riley
Here we were trying to find the right pieces to make the pattern symmetrical.
I like doing puzzles it is fun! -Eilidh
With the Butterflies and the Ladybugs we were matching two bits that looked the same to make them symmetrical.
I liked putting them together. It was fun. – Ava
At this station we were checking if shapes were Symmetrical or not symmetrical using the mirror. Using the scissors and glue we cut and stuck into our jotter putting the pictures under a big tick or a big cross.
I liked sticking the pictures in the right place in my jotter – Daryll

Basketball Stars
Yesterday in Gym we were playing basketball. Before we started we warmed our body up by playing a game of Traffic Lights. Miss Kinloch taught us ‘traffic jam’ where we got to beep our horns, and ‘parking space’ where we lie down on our back.
Our new skill we learned was dribbling. We had to bounce the ball down with our hands and try to get it to jump back up to our tummy.
We got to play a real game of basketball. We got into teams of yellow, red and white. We had to try and get the ball through the net to score points.
We thought…
It was fun – Lauren
It was brilliant – Aaron W
It was nice – Aydin
Dribbling was hard – Zoe
