As part of our topic we had to talk to the adults at home and in our lives about the kind of toys and games they used to play with. We shared what we had found out with the class. Some of the toys have stayed the same and some were very different. We played with some very old toys and had good fun!

Welcoming A Baby In The Church
Today in RME we learned about how a new baby is welcomed into the church. We watched a video that showed us what happens at a Christening. Mrs Noble showed us photos of her Christening and brought her Christening gown in to let us see.
We designed our own outfits for a Christening using what we have been learning in art about different lines.
Symmetrical Artwork
Today we were learning about symmetry. We know that lots of things are symmetrical. We have looked at butterflies, ladybugs, stars and faces. We know that both sides of something have to be the same, they have to match, to make symmetry.
We did painting today. We folded our paintings to make symmetrical pictures.
Lucy – I liked painting to make my picture.
Mason – It was easy the sides were the same at the end.
Kobi – I thought my picture was good when I opened it.
Nieve – It was easy to make symmetrical paintings.
Author Visit
This week an author called Stuart Reid came to visit the whole school. He told us about his books. They are about lots of horrible things. He was really funny!
Sorting In Lot of Different Ways
As well as our number work we have been learning about sorting too. Today we finished all of our sorting work with lots of fun activities. We sorted the objects by floating and sinking; by things with holes and things without; by size and by rough or smooth.
Mason – I liked the floating and sinking.
Kiara – I liked it all I am good at sorting.
Lucy – I liked working with the water.
Kelsie – I thought it was easy to sort the sinking and floating.
Alfie – I thought sorting the things with holes was awesome.
Millie – I liked everything.
Charlotte – I know if everything sinks or floats.
Harrison – I liked finding out what sinks and floats.
Lilly – It was easy to sort by size.
Brooklyn – Sorting is easy.
Nieve – Sorting in the water tray was good fun.
Kyle – I sorted at the water.
Olivia D – It was easy to sort the bears by size.
Kobi – It was easy to sort the things that sink and float.
Cassey – Sorting at the water was my favourite.
Amelie – I liked sorting the bears by size. It was tricky but fun.

Olivia C – I liked sorting the water. I liked playing with the things that floated.
Sharing Our Learning in P.E.
We have been working on different movement skills and have enjoyed using obstacle courses to show what we can do. Today Mrs Noble set us the challenge of making our own obstacle course in groups of 5. She told us that we were going to share them with P1/2 and let them use them for their P.E. lesson.
We know not to put anything dangerous into our obstacle courses. We can use the stepping stones, the hurdles, skipping ropes, hula hoops, under and over cones and the little cones too. P1/2 liked our obstacle courses and had fun using them.
It wasn’t tricky for me. – Mason
I chose a skipping rope for my team and they had to walk along it. – Olivia D
I chose hula hoops and they had to stand in and put them over them. – Cassey
It was good when P1/2 came in because I showed them my obstacle course – Harrison
I think that it was good that we got to share our learning. – Charlotte
