Science Week

For Science week we have been looking at forces as this was part of our previous topic. We carried out an experiment on friction and set up a ramp with different surfaces to help us investigate force. This included using sand paper, wood, bubble wrap, vinyl and carpet. Have a look at our investigation! We loved being scientists…

Life in the 60’s

Primary 2 have just finished their topic on life in the 60’s. We have really enjoyed this topic and we have learned SO much about the 1960’s. We have made POP art, explored 1960’s schools, fashion and transport. A special thank you to the Grandparents who made it in to tell us all about when they were wee and living through the 60’s. We learned so much from you!

World of Work Week!

Primary 2a have absolutely loved world of work week. We have had visits from Dr MacMillan, the Fire Brigade, our local Lollipop Man and a Post Office worker. We got to find out lots about what these people do as a job and ask lots of interesting questions.

We also enjoyed attending the careers fayre today as we got to speak to various different people who work for local businesses. We even got to meet a police officer and try on his riot gear!

We also had SO much fun at our Christmas party on Tuesday. We done some Scottish dancing with a partner and played many party games to win prizes. We would like to wish you all a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year!

What Primary 2a have been up to…

The past two weeks has been very busy in Primary 2a. For numeracy we have been learning lots about adding and taking away and played lots of fun games to help us with this. We also received a very special letter from the North Pole and each of us had to write a letter back to Santa.

We have been trying our best to learn our lines for our nativity and made Christmas decorations for the school Christmas Fayre. We also put up the Christmas tree in our classroom and we can’t wait to do more Christmas activities next week!

This Week in P2a…

Primary 2a have had a very busy week! For Maths we have been exploring greater than or less than and have been learning about odd and even numbers. We also started our new topic on toys. Everyone loved bringing in their favourite toy to school. We stood up in front of the class to tell everyone about our toy before writing a descriptive piece of writing on what it looked like. We also had a fantastic time on Friday raising money for Children in Need. Thank you for all your donations!

Happy Halloween!

P2a had a wonderful time doing a lot of fun Halloween activities last week. As well as having a ball at the school disco we explored spooky numbers, made a crooked cat and looked at different parts of the body to put together a skeleton in class. Thank you to those who made wonderful decorations for the classroom!
