Fairtrade & Cooking Leadership Academy Treat

For our final leadership academy the pupils enjoyed preparing a treat of strawberries and bananas dipped in melted milk chocolate.  They also got to try white and dark chocolate.  All the ingredients were Fairtrade. Pupils also learned about the importance of Fairtrade and how it helps farmers around the world. P2 Clyde Valley Family Park Trip

Primary 2 had a fantastic trip with the sun shining for us at Clyde Valley Family Park.  They enjoyed a trip on the train stopping to feed the llamas.  They then had fun on the go-karts, sand pits and jelly bellies. The children had a lovely day on Friday and they worked very hard to make their flower pots look beautiful. The children have really surprised me with how much they have enjoyed this project. Primary 3 The Human Body

This week Primary 3 have been learning about the organs in the human body.  We enjoyed looking at a model, taking it apart, putting it back together again and discussing the organs that we recognised. We have been learning all about toys from the past. The children have brought in lots of interesting toys that their families have kept over the years. The children have enjoyed looking at the differences and talking about different materials used. We looked carefully at the differences in teddy bears from the past and present.

P2 Butterfly Release 🦋

After 20 days in our care, today was time for our now adult butterflies to be released into the wild!  We had 10 beautiful and healthy butterflies all of which survived the metamorphosis from caterpillar. I think our net was too comfortable for them as they didn’t want to leave!  After some coaxing they flew up and away to find some flowers to get a much needed nectar snack. 🌺🌼🌸 Well
