P2 Butterfly Release 🦋

After 20 days in our care, today was time for our now adult butterflies to be released into the wild!  We had 10 beautiful and healthy butterflies all of which survived the metamorphosis from caterpillar. Surprise Visitors to P2! 🐛🐛

Primary 2 had a wonderful surprise arriving into class on Thursday.  We had 8 hungry caterpillars!  We are going to be observing the changes they go through and writing about their life cycle. It was amazing because our class got to look after caterpillars. (Penny and Harry) They are brown and furry. (Eve) I was so surprised! (Theo)

We had a lovely time when Willie from The Clyde River Foundation came to deliver our trout eggs. The children were so excited to see the eggs up close. We are trying to keep the temperature cold enough. Soon we are getting a visit from Rhona from the Clyde River Foundation. Hopefully soon we can release our new trout.

P6 Science Centre

Friday was a super busy day at the Science Centre for P6.  It was the launch of  our Clyde in the Classroom topic  where we learned how to care for our fish.  There was also some time to visit the different floors and explore the different activities.

P5 Science Investigation

Primary 5 have been working in groups to plan and prepare how they could investigate the speed at which mould appears on fruit. They discussed possible variables that could be tested and the five variables chosen are: type of fruit, moisture, temperature, exposure to light and size of fruit pieces. They had a busy morning yesterday as they carefully set up their experiments. Over the next two weeks they will
