P2/3 Reading Buddies in P6

P2/3 are practising their fluency and expression when reading aloud with their P6 reading buddy. P6 are doing a super job at helping younger pupils to use their reading strategies to read common and tricky words, as well as questioning them about their story. We look forward to our reading times with our buddies!

P2/3 Welcomed Supertato to their new class!

Primary 2/3 enjoyed a fun filled afternoon in their new superhero themed classroom. Supertato was our hero of the day but he disappeared!!! Don’t worry P2/3 came to the rescue, making their own Supertatos to free the trapped vegetables from the evil pea. We all had a great afternoon and a great way to start off our new class. Everyone is looking forward to bringing their Supertato home tomorrow!

Primary 3 The Human Body

This week Primary 3 have been learning about the organs in the human body.  We enjoyed looking at a model, taking it apart, putting it back together again and discussing the organs that we recognised. We created graffiti boards of facts we discovered after reading non-fiction books. We also revised the bones in our skeleton by playing a lotto game and creating What Am I? cards. This week children used

French Leadership Academy Cafe

Bravo to our French Champions today! We have a lovely afternoon showing our invited guests everything that we have learned this year, singing songs and practising taking orders in French. Thank you to everyone that came along. I hope you were impressed with our superstars, I certainly was. Merci!

Lots of fun in Primary 3

Primary 3 have loved learning about our human bodies. They can name lots of bones and tell you where in the body they are. They enjoyed measuring the humerus, ulna and radius bones in our arms and making shaving foam skeletons, which they labelled with the correct names. It got very messy but was lots of fun! In numeracy, they have been learning lots of the times tables and enjoyed

French Champions Leadership Academy

Today was all about preparation for our French Cafe on Wednesday 29th of May. Some of us prepared some Powerpoint Presentations to teach our visitors a little French. Others enjoyed our role-play area where we had a practise of being the waiter/waitress or the customer. It was great fun and a very busy afternoon. Please can you return the slip to say if you will be attending or not, if

P3 Visit Dippy

Better late than never. Here are our photos from our trip to visit Dippy at Kelvingrove Museum. We had a great day topped off by measuring ourselves alongside Dippy, we were almost as long as him. A great day had by all!

International Day of Happiness in P3

One of the activities that P3 enjoyed today was writing a letter to someone in the class to tell them what they do to make them feel happy. Children randomly chose a name from the bag, wrote a very carefully thought out letter and put it in an envelope to give to them. Everyone was delighted to read what others thought of them. It certainly put a smile on our

P3 Science Forces

Today Primary 3 brought in a push or a pull toy from home to sort. We realised that lots of our toys use push and pull forces to move in different directions or a different way. We had great discussion sorting some pictures of everyday tasks into whether they are a push or a pull. Some of us still argued that they could be both! We couldn’t prove them wrong.

World Book Day in Primary 3

Primary 3 had a fantastic day celebrating world book day yesterday. We enjoyed dressing as our favourite book characters and sharing stories with our friends. We played a game where we had to guess the book character on our heads by asking good questions. We wrote silly stories by playing a game of consequences, it was very funny reading back the final stories.  Then we all created a monster on
