P5 Matching, Mirroring and In Canon

This morning P5 started a new gymnastics block in P.E. They worked with a partner to match and mirror each other’s actions and movements. They then worked in small groups to perform movements in canon ~ one at a time. Next week they will progress to using these 3 techniques on the apparatus. Great work P5!

Christmas Postal Service

Last week Primary 6  enjoyed sorting the Christmas post and P1 pupils ensured it was delivered on time. Now P7 are back they are in charge of the delivery service. The postbox is located next to Ronnie the card machine. Remember to write the pupil name and class on each envelope and delivery to the class is guaranteed before Christmas. Last post 10 a.m. on Friday.

Christmas Fayre

Last night we held our annual Christmas Fayre which was organised by the Parent Council. The fantastic sum of £1600 was raised! Thank you for supporting our fayre, it was a brilliant night! Well done to Rebecca from P5 for taking so many good photos.

Rights Respecting School Leadership Academy

Thank you very much to Mrs Millar who came in to speak to our RRS Steering Group about her amazing job. Mrs Millar works for Clic Sargent which is a charitable organisation that supports young people who have cancer. The children were very engaged as they listened to the fantastic work this organisation does. The children have been inspired with some fundraising ideas for the future. They did very well

French Champions Leadership Academy

This week the French Champions were introduced to some French foods in preparation for having a French Cafe later in the year. Children enjoyed playing bingo, pictionary and noughts and crosses to reinforce their learning of the new vocabulary. They also started a words of the month wall, concentrating on manners this month. Parents Open Morning

Last week, we hosted parents and grandparents for our second open morning of the year. It was a very busy place and there were lots of different activities for the children to try in their classes. Some classes were learning new knowledge and skills in Literacy, some were learning in Numeracy, P7 were involved in inter-disciplinary learning  and P6 were demonstrating their artistic skills.

Class Certificates

Here are some more of our wonderful children receiving a certificate at our weekly assembly! This morning the children also enjoyed going out for a walk after assembly, which we were able to do because the jaggy weeds have been cut back along the path!

P4 Traffic Survey

Last week, Primary 4 conducted a traffic survey on Old Edinburgh Road as part of their learning in relation to Information Handling for Maths. The road doesn’t look that busy in these photos but there were actually lots of different colours of cars to count, even Flynn’s mum’s! We now know that when we are doing a survey we need to concentrate really well so that our results are accurate.
