All parents/ carers should have received a letter from NLC on Monday 21st December with clarification about the arrangements for January 2021. The school will open from Wednesday 6th January until Friday 8th January for children of key workers and vulnerable families where childcare support will be provided. All children return to learning on Monday 11th January 2021 when online learning will be in place at least until 18th January
The Rights Respecting School Steering Group launched a whole school competition to design a school mascot for RRS. Thank you to everyone for their hard work. The children certainly had a difficult choice choosing the winner. Congratulations to Holly in P6 who created ‘Roxy Rights.’ She is fab!!

For our final leadership academy the pupils enjoyed preparing a treat of strawberries and bananas dipped in melted milk chocolate. They also got to try white and dark chocolate. All the ingredients were Fairtrade. Pupils also learned about the importance of Fairtrade and how it helps farmers around the world. Well done boys and girls for raising enough money from the sale of your flapjacks to enjoy your treat!! Both

Bravo to our French Champions today! We have a lovely afternoon showing our invited guests everything that we have learned this year, singing songs and practising taking orders in French. Thank you to everyone that came along. I hope you were impressed with our superstars, I certainly was. Merci!
Today was all about preparation for our French Cafe on Wednesday 29th of May. Some of us prepared some Powerpoint Presentations to teach our visitors a little French. Others enjoyed our role-play area where we had a practise of being the waiter/waitress or the customer. It was great fun and a very busy afternoon. A huge congratulations to all the pupils in P2 as they confidently spoke for 1 minute about a famous Scot as part of their homework task. P5 have been enjoying hockey lessons delivered by a coach from the local hockey club. They are playing fun games including ‘King of the ring’ and ‘Freeze,’ If you would like to know how to play these games, please ask one of our P5’s. 🙂
Pupils in P2 were excited to make a healthy sandwich along with their parents/guardians. The ingredients for our sandwich were: wholemeal bread soft cheese spread cheddar cheese slice hommous lettuce ham Everyone really enjoyed making the sandwich and trying new foods. The hommous was a new taste for P2 pupils and they decided they didn’t like it because of it’s texture and smell. Well done for trying it anyway! 🙂
