P4-7 participated in a drama workshop this afternoon delivered by Takeaway Productions. Pupils enjoyed watching a very important production about the concept of bullying and then took part in a workshop afterwards to discuss the content and think about how the story ends. Some pupils in Primary 2 have been learning about where in our mouths different sounds come from. This is helping us to improve our reading and spelling. Today we enjoyed jumping in the colour hoops, sorting alphabet flashcards and magnetic letters into the correct colour hoop then using them to build our own words. Well done Primary 2!

Aitkenhead Primary School is bidding to bag a massive cash boost from the Tesco Bags of Help initiative. Tesco teamed up with Groundwork to launch its community funding scheme, which sees grants of £4,000, £2,000 and £1,000 raised from carrier bag sales in Tesco stores awarded to local community projects. Here are some highlights from our End of Year Assembly which took place on Monday. Once again, two children from each class were chosen by their class teacher to receive the Sarah Warnock Award. New awards were also introduced this year based around the four capacities of Confident Individual, Effective Contributor, Responsible Citizen and Successful Learner. Primary 7 pupils enjoyed attending a European Day at Bothwell Primary this week. They experienced a range of exciting modern languages activities including soft tennis, eurobics, mosaics and learning about zoo animals in French. They also attended the French café to order a snack and used tin foil to build an Eiffel Tower!! Thank you very much to Mrs Devine for organising this event for our P7’s to enjoy. Well
P7 pupils enjoyed painting large sunflowers for the Uddingston Pride Craft Bomb. The completed art work can be seen displayed around the outside of the school. Lovely work P7!
P2 have been busy this week for the local craft bomb! They have painted symmetrical butterflies by painting one side very carefully and folding over the paper to make sure the other half is the same.
