We were delighted to receive a letter from Neil Gray MP offering his congratulations to Miss Mann, Erin, Jill and Lucie. The group helped Airdrie Academy revceive Fairtrade Achiever School status for the second year running.
The senior pupils in the school’s charity team are organising Red Nose Day events which include selling the official merchandise in the social area at lunchtimes and also a novelty bake sale on Friday 24th March.
Easter School will take place from Monday 3rd April until Wednesday 5th April – 9.30am to 12.45pm. The aim is to provide additional support, advice and extra practice in the majority of subjects in the lead up to the SQA exams. Pupils in S4/5/6 who are sitting Higher or National 5 will have the opportunity to sign up for Easter School during FOL time. Pupils who attended in previous years found the event extremely beneficial.
Airdrie Academy recently held a very successful Developing The Young Workforce week. This was coordinated by PT Pupil Support Miss Lilly and involved pupils from every year group at different points throughout the week.
The aim of the week was to have a real focus on providing information and ideas to pupils with regard to future careers. It showed them the wide range of opportunities available to them and was very informative and enjoyable.
Pupils engaged exceptionally well with all of our visitors and really gained a great deal of information and advice form all who came to support this initiative.
Thanks to all of those who supported the school over the week and made the workshops so enjoyable for our pupils.
