Article 38

In September 2023 our S6 students went to the war graves in Belgium to pay their respects. We had a service of Remembrance in St George’s Memorial church in Ypres, including  and students visited sites associated  with WW1. We paid our respects at the graves of former pupils of Airdrie Academy, went to Passchendaele museum and the trenches at Hill 62. Our students also had the privilege of participating in the Menin Gate ceremony, laying wreathes on behalf of the school, Girls’ Brigade and Airdrie Football Club.

Masterclasses

Masterclass Support TT 2023 N5 (1) Masterclasses Support TT 2023 Highers (1)S4 – S6 pupils will have ongoing support throughout the SQA examination period. Pupils are asked to attend masterclass sessions – a final session working with their teachers prior to each of their exams. These sessions have proven invaluable to pupils in previous years. S4-S6 pupils are reminded to wear full school uniform when in school throughout the SQA examination diet.

25th November Social Enterprise Academy
Social Enterprise is fully funded by the Scottish government and gives young people the opportunity to take part in an exciting hands-on experience whereby they can identify a social issue in their community and make a positive change by setting up their own social enterprise.
Pathways 2nd Dec- 20th Jan
For young people looking to leave school and enter the workplace.  The aim is to develop an understanding of the current opportunities available to the young people and practice employability skills required to progress.  Week 1: All about you (skills and Qualities) Week 2: The job market (where to look) Week 3: Apply (writing first CV / Personal Statement) Week 4: Interview Week 5: working Life.
