Caritas Prayer Project

Monday 11th September – Jack Nailen

Dear lord,

We pray that everyone can love one and other for who they

Truly are because everyone is God’s children and he loves us all equally.

We pray for peace in our communities this day.

We commit to you all who work for peace and an end to tensions.

We pray for an end to fear,

For comfort and support to those who suffer.

For calm in our streets and cities,

That people may go about their lives in safety and peace.

Amen.

Tuesday 12th September – Christie Smith

(Cancer awareness)

Today Lord, we pray for those suffering.

We pray their pain eases and each day they get better and stronger. We know you are there to help those in need of your love and power.

In great times of distress we remember the power of prayer and we hope you can bring hope, comfort and relief to those affected and suffering.

May you bring us all health in the soul and body and ensure everyone who is ready to, has a safe place in heaven with you where they can live forever in peace, comfort and with no pain.

Wednesday 13th September – Jennifer Laing

Almighty God,

We pray for peace in times like these.

That all those who suffer will be given mercy

And for inhumane wars to be halted.

Give strength to those in need of love and support

And let their pain be washed over with harmony.

Amen.

Thursday 14 September – Prayer for Vocations

Almighty and eternal God,  in your unfailing love you provide ministers for your Church.  We pray for those whom you call to serve the Diocese of Motherwell as priests.  Inspire in them a generous response.  Grant them courage and vision to serve your people. May their lives and service call your people to respond to the presence of your Spirit among us that, faithful to the Gospel and hope of Jesus the Christ, we may: announce glad tidings to the poor proclaim liberty to captives, set prisoners free and renew the face of the earth.

September 15th Prayer by Bethany Craig

Feast Day: Our lady of Sorrows

O God, You hold in your embrace both the sorrow and the beauty of life.  Call us more deeply to embrace our mission, that in responding today to the sufferings of this world and the challenges it throws our way that we may stay at your side and there receive the gift of Christ’s Spirit, who lives and reigns with you forever and ever.

Amen.
