Photography

canon-lensPhotography has fast become a massive part of the world we live in. Photography is literally in the palm of our hands and has become such an intrinsic part of our society both culturally and professionally in recent years. At CNHS Higher Photography is offered to pupils in S6. Pupils are given the opportunity to work with proffessional grade photographic equipment and digital software. The Higher Photography course encourages pupils to develop an understanding of how the construction & manipulation of a photograph is developed and considerd by professional photographers. Here at CNHS we endeavour to discover that the industry is much more than the ‘Selfie’ obsessed climate that we live in today. The Higher Photography Course enables pupils to communicate personal thoughts, feelings and ideas using photography, and to develop technical and creative skills in using photographic media, techniques and processes. Pupils develop knowledge and understanding of a range of photography practice, and analyse the impact of social and cultural influences on photographers and their work.
