Daily Prayer

O Lord, from whom all good things come:
grant to us your humble servants,
that by your gifts of the Holy Spirit
we may be inspired to act and proclaim your gospel as the apostles did on the day of Pentecost.
We ask this through Jesus Christ your Son. Amen.

School Prayer

Lord, I thank you for bringing me to another day.
May I live it completely for You,
Through you,
With You and in you. Amen

Blessed John Henry Newman, Pray for Us.

P7 Visits

In honour of the new dance course and Columba’s P7’s display yesterday:

There was a wee house called Columba
Whose sports people were better at Rumba
Now it’s Strictly Come dancing
With some stylish prancing:
It’s ballroom and tap for Columba.

Shaping our Vision and Values

The Pupil Council has recently been involved in initial discussions of the vision and values of the school. What is most clear already is that pupil involvement is key if they are to have ownership of the values of their school. To this end, over the next two months the Pupil Council will ensure ALL pupils have the opportunity to shape these values through a series of group tasks in Homeroom. Parents and staff will also be invited to participate. As a school community, we look forward to undertaking this important task and to relaunching our revised vision and values in due course.

S4, S5, S6 Study Leave

Exam leave for senior phase pupils S4 – S6 begins on Tuesday May 3 and will finish on Friday 3 June 2016.  All pupils in S5 and S6 will have exam leave.

S4 pupils who are sitting any National 5 qualifications, regardless of the subjects involved, will have exam leave for the whole of the SQA examination diet i.e. May 3 till June 3 2016 (inclusive).

Pupils on exam leave may still come to school to study.  The library and other ICT facilities will be available for use.  Pupils are also able to meet with their subject teachers at the times displayed on their current senior phase timetable.

Pupils who are entered for National 4 qualifications only will not have any exam leave and will follow an amended timetable alongside a planned programme of events.  Mr Smith, DHT, will issue details of the amended timetable and additional events at S4 assemblies weeks beginning 18 and 25 April 2016.

Career in Medicine

There will be a couple of useful lectures taking place at the University of Stirling for students in Scotland, who wish to pursue a career in medicine. Please could you kindly forward this information on to students, parents and careers advisors. The conferences and lectures are suitable for students in years 10-12 and we also encourage parents to attend if they wish because there is a lot of valuable information for them too such as funding and maintenance costs.
There are also fully funded spaces for teachers and students from disadvantaged backgrounds. If you are interested in applying for these please give us a call on 07454704204.

I have also listed the lectures below.
