Classbase 7

Term 1

CB7 have had a great first term. We have been gardening which is an exciting and important part of learning at our school. It gives children the chance to explore nature, understand how plants grow, and learn how to care for the environment.

As part of our learning, we teach children about “People Who Help Us” in the community. This includes firefighters, police officers, doctors, nurses, teachers, farmers, and many others who work hard to keep us safe and healthy.

Through role-play, discussions, and visits, children learn about the important jobs these people do. They begin to understand how communities work together and why helping others is so important. This topic also encourages respect, kindness, and appreciation for different roles in society.

Term 2

CB7 have been enjoying Halloween as it is always an exciting time at our school! The children enjoy taking part in a range of fun and creative activities linked to the season. In class, pupils explore autumn themes through art, storytelling, pumpkin carving designs, and themed crafts. Activities are always age-appropriate and focused on fun rather than fright.

Our Christmas Show is a very special event in the school calendar and a wonderful way to celebrate the festive season together. Children work incredibly hard on their performances that they proudly share with family and friends

Term 3

Learning extends far beyond the classroom at our school. We believe that giving children opportunities to explore and take part in the wider community helps them develop confidence, independence, and a strong sense of belonging.

CB7 learned about Valentines day and use this time to reinforce the importance of positive relationships, respect, and thoughtful behaviour. Through discussions and activities, pupils learn that Valentine’s Day is about showing appreciation and spreading kindness within our school community.

We learned about Burn Supper and had our own supper in class were we tried new foods and listened to scottish music.

Chinese New Year is an exciting celebration that allows children to learn about different cultures and traditions around the world. Pupils explore the story of the zodiac animals and explore some Chinese food through our own celebrations.
