Term 1

The Big Breakfast Event

We had great fun at the Big Breakfast and enjoyed trying lots of new foods!

Numeracy

We participated in Maths Week Scotland. We had fun exploring a variety of shapes and learned about their names as well as their properties. We have also been developing our knowledge of place value and have applied this knowledge to read, write, order and sequence numbers.

Literacy

We have been learning all about adjectives through taking part in lots of games and activities. We are beginning to add more adjectives to our writing in order to make it descriptive.

Art

We loved designing and creating our very own monsters using a range of media. Our monsters then featured in our imaginative stories!

Term 2

This term we have been focusing on working cooperatively. We had lots of fun taking part in several team building challenges where we developed the skills of sharing, communicating and turn taking to achieve a goal. We then applied these skills by working together to create an activity for the rest of the class to enjoy. We created activities such as lucky dip, guess the number of coins in the jar, pin the tail on the lion and a drawing competition. We had great fun leading our activities and enjoyed having the opportunity to try out each other’s activities to!

Numeracy

We have been learning to estimate and measure in cm through a rage of practical activities.
