Primary 7/6

Teacher: Mrs Boyd

This term, in Primary 7/6 we have been working extremely hard and making great progress – especially in Literacy and Numeracy.
Our Primary 7s have been particularly lucky, getting to spend time learning with English teacher Mrs Lausso and Math’s teacher Mr Currie from Notre Dame High School in order to help prepare them for the transition to Secondary. In addition to this, the whole class is looking forward to visiting Notre Dame next week to see their Pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk!
It might seem a little premature, but for the past week or so, we have been spending a lot of time getting into the festive spirit, practicing our songs for the Christmas Show! No spoilers here, but we hope that you have all got your tickets, as it is going to be a super show!
We are all feeling very proud of ourselves for completing our first whole-class novel, Wonder. This lengthy book was a challenge at times, but on reflection we have all learned a huge amount from studying the novel and almost all of us would recommend it to a friend. Next up, is ‘The 1000 Year Old Boy’ written by Ross Welford.
In Science we have been enjoying learning about inheritance in plants and animals. This was inspired by our recent visit to the Glasgow Science Centre and we have all been fascinated by and had a lot of fun learning about inherited and non inherited characteristics that we have ourselves.
