Primary 7B

Teacher: Mrs Boyd

This term, Primary 7b will be reading and investigating the novel ‘Wonder’ by R.J. Palalcio.
The central themes of the book are kindnesscourage, independence and growing up; all especially relevant for our maturing Primary 7s who will soon embark upon their transition to High School. These themes will form the basis of most of this terms Health and Wellbeing lessons as well as our topic lessons. We will also be doing several Wonder related Art and Design activities.
For Writing, we will be primarily focussing on narrative, discursive, report and instructional genres for writing and in Numeracy the larger key topics we will cover are angles, multiplication and division, fractions, decimals and percentages.
Of course, we will be continuing to work towards achieving our Pope Francis Faith Award and we will be spending time researching and discussing the Saints, so that we are as prepared as possible to make the big decision as to who our Confirmation Saint will be.
This term we will be taking out learning outside, into our local community (and beyond) as much as possible. We already have been to Hampden Park, Greenock Central Library, The Waterfront Cinema and Fort Matilda Tennis Club. Before the end of term, we plan to go on many more outings, which we are really looking forward to!

Our PE days are a Monday & Wednesday.
