St Joseph’s Attendance Procedure – 2025/26

Daily Attendance Check

• Parents to notify school before 9am of child’s absence via telephone, email or parent portal
• Class register & lunches to be submitted by teacher at 9:15am
• Telephone calls to parents begin at 9:30am to confirm reason for absence and safety of children
• Follow-up texts or emails to parents at 10am when no answer to initial telephone call
• Home visits or further action to be initiated at 10:30 am if no response from parents regarding absence
• Monthly attendance reports will be sent to parents to inform and update them of attendance record
• In-person meetings, for pupils and families where attendance indicates an issue, may take place to discuss measures for supporting improved attendance and/or timekeeping
