Welcome

Dear Parent,

Welcome to Gourock Primary School website!

As the newly appointed Head Teacher of the school, it is my absolute privilege and pleasure to be given the responsibility to lead forward this amazing school and to work with such wonderful children, committed staff team and supportive parents.

At Gourock Primary, we strive to provide the highest quality learning and teaching experiences to ensure that all children care about the world they live in and learn and develop the full range of skills to be citizens of the 21st century. We aim to help our pupils become independent learners, be creative, healthy and develop a positive attitude to life. Children and young people are at the centre of our learning provision. Our aspiration is that they should  develop the four capacities to become:

successful learners
confident individuals
responsible citizens
effective contributors

The School’s learning philosophy is based on our school values where we encourage learners to build capacity, collaborate and make connections in their learning.

Care, Share, Believe and Achieve

A Gourock Primary Learner Perseveres and is Engaged, Motivated, Creative, Responsible and Effective. To deliver excellence in learning and teaching within the challenges of the 21st century, Curriculum for Excellence is at the heart of everything we do.

As key educators in your children’s lives, we believe that it is important that you feel you have a voice and that as a school we are approachable and allocate time to listen to your concerns, worries or thoughts about the school. You can be assured that we will continue to strive to create a school which provides an all-round educational experience in which everyone can flourish.

I look forward to watching your children grow in confidence, knowledge and skills during their time at Gourock Primary and thank you in advance for your support.  Our door is always open.

We welcome your comments and suggestions to ensure we: Get It Right for Every Child.

Yours faithfully,

Mrs Christine Murray
Head teacher
