At Bluebird Family Centre we believe that parents and families are the most important influences in a child’s life and therefore we value your support in your child’s education.
The engagement of parents and families helps to raise attainment and ensures a collaborative approach to your child’s learning. At Bluebird we will build on the experiences your child has already learned at home and we encourage all parents to share their child’s experience of their child’s learning at home through their learning journals.
Regular meetings are held throughout the year to provide updates on children’s learning. Parents are also able to speak to their child’s key worker at any time should they so wish, we pride ourselves on open communication with families.
Last year we introduced a weekly parents group led by the Equity and Excellence Lead that welcomed parents to monthly themed sessions every Tuesday and Thursday in the family room upstairs. This was met with huge success and is something we are continuing as part of our ongoing commitment to parental engagement. Parents can sign up to these sessions by adding their name to the list outside the Rainbow Room.
We also offer weekly Bookbug sessions every Friday morning for parents and members of the community to attend with their child. If you would like to attend this session please add your name to the list at reception or call the nursery and a member of staff will take your details.
We value parents views and opinions as part of our self-evaluation to continue to improve our practice and service. We encourage you to express your views and opinions through regular questionnaires, online surveys and a suggestions box that is displayed at the reception desk.
