Our Community

At Bluebird Family Centre we pride ourselves on having excellent links with our local community. We collaborate and work alongside a host of community partnerships who help to enrich and develop our centre and the experiences for our children and families.

Our community partnerships include:

  • Inverclyde Shed

We have been very fortunate to work with the volunteer team at Inverclyde Shed who have helped to build and deliver beautiful wooden creations to enhance our outdoor area. The children were elated with our recent addition of a new mud kitchen which has been greatly received and used daily.

  • Balclutha

Every week we take children to visit the Balclutha care home where our children and the residents take part in fun and games through different activities including singing and dancing, games and creative activities. We have been in partnership with Balclutha for over 4 years and our children and staff have built lovely positive relationships with the residents and care staff.

  • FUNdraising Inverclyde

Over the years Bluebird has been able to provide additional experiences and opportunities for families with the help and support from the team at FUNdraising Inverclyde. We have been lucky to have had visits from the Easter Bunny, Santa Claus and visits to the local garden centre.

  • Belville Community Gardens

Our volunteers, Julie and Alice from Belville Community Garden, visit us monthly, bringing a range of ideas and resources to engage children in learning about growing plants, flowers, fruits, and vegetables. This partnership provides valuable hands-on experiences and strengthens our links with the local community.

  • Dinky Diggers

Our friends at Dinky Diggers have supported us in hosting wonderful outdoor stay-and-play sessions with our families. These sessions have given children the chance to experience a real fire, toast their own s’mores, search for bugs, and explore the outdoor environment. They provide rich opportunities for fun, learning, and engagement while strengthening our connections with families.

  • Branchton Community Centre

Every year we are grateful for our partnership with our local community centre. They have hosted our Christmas parties for our younger children and different events throughout the year. They have also provided us with food parcels to distribute to our families.

  • Greenock Health Centre

Every year as our children get ready to embark on their journey to school we noted that a lot of our children had aspirations to work in the medical sector. This led to the partnership with our local health centre where we take a group of children to experience the roles of the doctors and nurses firsthand. We have been fortunate to have visited the health centre for the last 3 years and we are excited for our next visit.
