Requesting Involvement from Glasgow Educational Psychological Service
Funded Providers (previously referred to as Partnership nurseries), health and social work may request involvement from an Educational Psychologist for the following reasons:
-
- To support establishments to meet children’s additional support needs within their setting.
- To explore whether an alternative pathway should be considered.
- To support an application for Duntarvie/Linn Pre-school Assessment and Development Centres.
Funded Providers can also contact the area Early Years Leads (details below) for general advice and information. Please contact the relevant Early Years Lead for the child’s home address.
Applications to the Area Inclusion Group (AIG) for alternative pathways can be submitted at any point during the year, once you feel you have robust assessment information and evidence of staged intervention. Please be aware that the cut-off for applications for alternative pathways for school is usually around November of a child’s pre-school year, and therefore, it would be helpful to request involvement from an Educational Psychologist as children come towards the end of their ante pre-school year. This is to allow for assessment over time and planning.
