Funded Providers

Requesting Involvement from Glasgow Educational Psychological Service

Funded Providers (previously referred to as Partnership  nurseries), health and social work may request involvement from an Educational Psychologist for the following reasons:

    • To support establishments to meet children’s additional support needs within their setting.
    • To support a child’s transition to school.

Funded Providers can also contact the area Early Years Leads (details below) for general advice and information. Please contact the relevant Early Years Lead for the child’s home address.

If you wish to apply to the Area Inclusion Group (AIG) for an alternative pathway for school (if there are concerns that the child’s needs can not be met in their local mainstream school), the AIG processes and paperwork can be found on Glasgow Early Years website. Please be aware that the cut-off for applications for alternative pathways to school is usually around the end of October of a child’s pre-school year. Therefore, transition planning should begin as children come towards the end of their ante pre-school year. EP involvement is not necessary for making an AIG referral, however some settings may seek EP support to ensure they have robust assessment information and planning processes in place.
