Resources for parents/carers

Managing anxiety and building your child’s resilience

Three videos have been created for parents and carers and offer some practical strategies and advice for supporting their children and young people to manage anxieties and build their resilience. The videos aim to first support parents and carers to understand the nature of stress and anxiety, introduce some theoretical models and then provide practical ways to help.

Please visit our Anxiety and Resilience page to watch the videos and access additional resources.

Training for Kinship Carers

We have developed the following videos to promote the importance of relationships and nurturing experiences in supporting positive outcomes and resilience for our children and young people. These animations were designed specifically for our Kinship Carers but are also relevant to anyone who has a role in working with and caring for children and young people.

Please visit our Training for Kinship Carers page to watch the videos. We would love to hear your feedback on these too. Please take a few minutes to complete our Kinship Care training evaluation once you have watched these.

Journey from Birth to School for Children with Complex Learning Needs

The leaflet below outlines the journey from birth to school for children with complex learning needs and the different professionals who may support along the way. As each child has their own individual needs, the journey may look like different for everyone, but we hope this leaflet will give all families a rough guide. There are hyperlinks throughout the leaflet which you can use to find out further information as and when needed. Thanks to all the parents and health professionals who helped produce this leaflet.
