Last Night

Well it’s been another busy busy day…bacon, potato scones and spaghetti hoops for breakfast led to a long walk up Kindrogan Hill.

Camouflage commando at the top brought lots of laughs as did walking through the very wet bogs in the trees. Then back to build to bird boxes that will be homes of the highest order once back home…

Tonight’s camp fire was great fun even if the singing was questionable.  Now as the kids pack and get sorted for tomorrow there’s smiles on every tired face as they get ready to tell all the stories as soon as they get home… Then fall asleep shortly after…

Peanut butter!

Today we made bird boxes and it was hilarious! It was the best success ever! Every time we tried to put a nail in it, it split the wood so we had to put on a new patch of wood and that split lots as well!

Peanut Butter!

But eventually we got it to work and we called it peanut butter. What I learned was that even though it split about 10 times I was gutted the first time it split but when we decided to get it finished and it was the most tedious thing to do in the world but in the end it was so funny! We couldn’t stop laughing and it weighed three times as much as the normal bird boxes! Because of so much wood and nails that we had on the bird boxes so we had no more pieces of wood. And we all got a souvenir from peanut butter the best bird box in the world ever!

The tragic story of Francis and Mary.

Today we went up kindrogen hill. It was really steep most of the way up. There was a grave yard just after the start, there was a grave that had two names on it. One of the names was called France’s Balfour and her sister was called Mary Balfour; Lizzy (our tutor) told us a story about Mary and how she fell in love with the game keeper but her dad found out and told him to leave so he did but he lived in a cave about hour and a half away from kindrogen and Mary still went to he him secretly but her dad found out so he tried to shoot him but Mary jumped in front of him and her dad shot her.

When we got back we made bird boxes. That’s all from me. Day 4. It’s been another great day!!

Today was amazing!

Hey guys. Wish you were all here. We are all sitting lounging about waiting   for Ben and Rachel to come and round us all up to go to the classroom. Today was amazing we all got to go on the low ropes, we got to try our hand at starting a fire in the woods next to all the huge lochs.

I can’t wait to toast all of my marshmallows at the bonfire tomorrow night. Right now I feel really excited about the bonfire.

Day 3…

Well we have just had our fish n chips dinner and are all full! I think it was the mandarin and toffee desert that did it. Another great day… This afternoon we did the low ropes learning to rust each other and then completing the course… Of course we all managed. We then had more attempts at fire starting. The sparks for flint and steel are amazing. We even got a few going… Stay tuned for more details from the people that matter…the children.
