Our House Token system began in September 2020 and the aims of the new systems was to:-
- Reward positive behaviour
- Develop a stronger sense of community
- Encourage engagement and motivation within school
- Allow for healthy competition between the different house group
Pupils can receive a house token from their teacher if they are deserving of the merit. Pupils can get house tokens for a number of things such as using your study planner well, trying really hard in class, a good test result, being helpful in class, contributing to class discussion, going above and beyond etc.
Pupils who receive a token place this in the Token Tubes – shown below. Each token is worth 1 point.
A STAR token can be given by a member of our Senior Leadership Team. These tokens will be issued to those that are doing exceptionally well in school, extra curricular activities, contributions to the school etc. Star tokens are worth 50 points.
House competitions happen throughout the year which also allow House groups to gain points.
House competition scores, tokens & stars are tallied up on 2 different occasions through the year – December and June. The house group with the more points will receive the House Cup. Moreover, the winning house receive prizes and different reward afternoons.
