Headteacher’s Welcome

A Warm Welcome to Our Lady of the Annunciation Primary School

Dear Parents, Carers and Families,

It is my pleasure to welcome you to Our Lady of the Annunciation Primary School. We are very proud of our school and the strong sense of community shared by our children, families, staff and parish. At the heart of everything we do is our commitment to ensuring that every child is known, valued and supported to achieve their full potential.

At Our Lady of the Annunciation, we have high aspirations for all our children. We aim to provide engaging, high-quality learning experiences which help our pupils develop the knowledge, skills, confidence and values they need to succeed in school and beyond. We recognise that children thrive when home and school work together, and we greatly value the positive partnerships we build with our parents and carers.

As a Catholic school, our faith is at the heart of our school community. Guided by the Gospel values and our school values of Love, Hope, Faith and Kindness, we encourage our children to show care and compassion for others, respect the dignity of every person and make a positive contribution to the world around them. We are proud to be part of St Gabriel’s Parish and value the close relationship between our school, parish and families as we support our children on their journey of faith.

Our commitment to caring for creation is an important part of our Catholic identity. As an Eco School and Laudato Si’ School, our children are encouraged to care for our common home, understand the impact of their choices and take meaningful action to protect our environment. Through learning, pupil leadership and action across our school, we aim to help our children recognise the important role they can play in creating a more sustainable and hopeful future.

We are also proud to have achieved the Digital Schools Award, recognising our commitment to high-quality digital learning across the school. Digital technology is used purposefully to enhance learning and teaching, develop creativity and provide our children with the skills, confidence and understanding they need to participate safely and responsibly in an increasingly digital world.

We are committed to creating a nurturing and inclusive environment where every child feels safe, respected and ready to learn. As a Rights Respecting School, our children are encouraged to have a voice in the life of our school, take on leadership roles and develop as responsible, confident and caring members of our community.

Parents and carers are an important part of school life, and we encourage you to become involved in your child’s learning and in the wider life of our school. Throughout the year, there are many opportunities to join us in celebrating learning, faith and the achievements of our children.

I hope you find our website helpful in learning more about our school, our values and the opportunities we provide for our children. If you have any questions or require further information, please do not hesitate to contact the school.

I look forward to working in partnership with you throughout your child’s time at Our Lady of the Annunciation.
