We are delighted to welcome new children and families to Our Lady of the Annunciation Primary School.

🎒 Starting Primary 1 in August 2027

Children starting Primary 1 in August 2027 will normally have reached the age of 5 between:

1 March 2027 and 28 February 2028

Primary 1 enrolment is managed by Glasgow City Council.

📅 Primary 1 Registration

Registration for children starting Primary 1 in August 2027 will take place from:

Glasgow City Council’s online enrolment form will be available from Monday 2 November 2026.

Parents and carers should complete the online application by Friday 6 November 2026.

For the most up-to-date information and access to the online application when it becomes available, please visit the Glasgow City Council P1 Enrolment and Placing Requests page.

🏫 Choosing Your Catchment School

If you live within the Glasgow City Council boundary, you must initially register your child for Primary 1 at one of your catchment primary schools.

Families have a choice between their catchment:

  • Non-denominational primary school
  • Roman Catholic primary school

If you are unsure which schools are within your catchment area, you can use Glasgow City Council’s School Catchment Lookup.

✝️ Choosing a Catholic School

Our Lady of the Annunciation is a Roman Catholic primary school, where our faith and Gospel values are at the heart of school life.

Catholic schools aim to support children to develop their fullest potential – academically, socially, emotionally and spiritually – preparing them for learning and for life.

Our school is a welcoming and inclusive community. We seek to help every child grow in confidence, develop strong values and recognise the importance of kindness, service and respect for others.

Catholic schools welcome children and families from Catholic and other faith traditions, as well as those with no religious affiliation.

Further information about Catholic education in Scotland can be found through the Scottish Catholic Education Service (SCES).

📍 Placing Requests

Parents and carers may wish to apply for their child to attend a school other than their local catchment school. This is known as a placing request.

If you wish to make a placing request, you must still register your child for Primary 1 at their local catchment school first. A placing request can then be submitted separately.

Please note that a placing request does not guarantee a place at the school requested.

Further information and the online placing request process are available through Glasgow City Council.

⏳ Deferred Entry

If you are considering deferring your child’s entry to Primary 1, you should still register your child for their catchment school while your deferral application is being considered.

Further information about deferred entry and the application process is available through Glasgow City Council.

💙 Starting at OLA

Families will be notified of their confirmed Primary 1 place no later than February 2027.

Once places have been confirmed, we will contact our new Primary 1 families with information about our transition programme, including opportunities for children and families to visit the school and become familiar with OLA before starting in August.

We look forward to welcoming our new children and families and helping every child feel happy, confident and ready to begin their journey at OLA.
