Eco Committe Biodiversity Fact Files

Eco Committee

♻️🌍🦜🐛🐞🦋🐝

The Eco Committee have been busy!

They have been making biodiversity posters. We have spotted many of these birds, insects and animals that share our playground during eco meetings. We wanted to create posters to help everyone learn a bit more about them and encourage everyone to look out for our visitors🦜

They are now installed on the fence at the Urban Jungle, and we hope the children enjoy using them!

2p Challenge

Digital Leaders 2p Challenge

Help us raise funds for class headphones. The Digital Leaders would like you to dig deep and send in any spare 2ps you have.

Each class has until 5th May to bring as many 2ps as they can in preparation for our “DigiDay”. The class who raises the most will receive a special DigiDay prize.

Dear Parents and Carers,
We are excited to share that our Primary 6 classes are supporting the charity Refuweegee by organising a collection of toiletry donations. This fantastic cause helps to support those who have been displaced and are starting a new life in Glasgow.
We kindly ask for your support by donating any of the following items:
  • Shampoo and conditioner
  • Shower gel
  • Soap
  • Shaving foam and razors
  • Nappies
  • Toilet roll
  • Deodorant
All donations can be brought to school and P6 pupils will visit classes to collect. Please bring any donations to school by
Thursday 19th December.
We greatly appreciate your generosity in helping us make a difference to those in need.
Thank you for your support!
Kind regards,
P6 pupils and teachers

Showbie Class Groups

This year we will use Showbie groups to communicate with you at class level.  This will be for class information, reminders, photos and anything that applies to the class, that doesn’t need to be shared with the rest of the school.

To join your class Showbie group, your child will give you a code.

Further help about joining a group can be found via Showbie’s website  – Showbie groups help

The class group will be announcements only, so any help you need or to alert the class teacher to something going on, should be directed to the management team via the school office 0141 637 6798

or by email to the Head Teacher via this form.

Break the Rules day

Merrylee pupils are invited to take part in ‘Break the Rules day’ on Friday 9th February.

For a small donation of £1, you can have fun breaking a few rules. (See the poster for ideas)

The money raised will go towards a fun event in the summer term. Donations can be made via Parentpay.
