Summer uniform swap

☀️ SPRING/SUMMER uniform swap☀️

The PA are going to pull out our clothing rail ready to hang pre-loved summer school uniform to share and swap. A great way to re-use uniform that no longer fits, and to get summer items for free that are often only worn for a short time.

We would love any donations of clean items in good condition from the list below to add to our rail.

☀️ Summer school dresses

☀️ Short sleeve polo shirts (with or without school logo)

☀️ School grey shorts or skirts

☀️ Cotton cardigans / jumpers

☀️ School blazers

The donations box will be in the foyer at the main entrance from today, and the rail available, same place, from tomorrow.

Thank you for helping us to reduce, re-use and recycle.

Online Book Fair

Our online book fair starts today, hurray!

It runs for one week, until midnight on Sunday 21st November.

To order –

  • Go to www.booksforbugs.co.uk
  • Click on ‘shop now’ or ‘search’, make your choices and add them to your basket
  • At the checkout, enter your own name and address under ‘Billing details’ but in the section headed ‘Deliver to a different address?’ enter your child’s class where prompted, and the school name and address for free delivery (Merrylee Primary, 50 Friarton Road, Glasgow, G43 2PR).

For every 5 books sold, the school gets to choose one to add to the stock of books in school which is constantly needing replenished.

Happy shopping, we hope you find some Christmas bargains, and thank you for supporting the school!

Best wishes, The PA

Halloween Information

Come and join the Halloween Family Fun!

Merrylee Monster Mash trail

Following the success of our Halloween trail last year, we are recreating the fun with The Merrylee Monster Mash running from Thursday 28th October to Sunday 31st. If you would like your home to feature on our map, please email the PA (merryleepa@hotmail.com) asap, including your name and address. Your home will appear as a pumpkin on the map. We can’t wait to see your decorated windows, balconies and/or gardens! Maps will be available from school, on Seesaw and Facebook from Weds 27th Oct.

School garden decorations

We will be decorating the school grounds with all sorts of ghoulish delights from this Saturday 23rd October. If you’d like to get involved please email us or message on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/237423799686385). There are ideas on the Facebook group of things you can easily make at home at little/no expense, and bring in to school e.g. milk bottle ghosts, sock spiders and egg carton bats. We welcome any of your creations or offers of help!

Costume Recycling

The recycling rail is up and ready outside the school office, awaiting donations of pre-loved, good condition Halloween and fancy-dress clothes and accessories. Please donate if you can, and pop along to see if there’s anything you could re-use this year. Another great way to help refuse, reduce, re-use and recycle.

Many thanks,

The PA

Class Tea Towels

Merrylee Tea Towel orders are now open!

(Example of tea towel)

Available to buy on ParentPay for £3.50 only until Friday 11th June 12 noon.

There is one design per year group. Each year group design (P1 – P7) has the children’s self-portraits and their drawings of their class teacher.

A fun (and useful!) way to capture the year before the end of the term!

We hope you love seeing your children’s and their friend’s artwork.

Thanks, from the PA.
