Mr Harte brought the Primary 6/5 class to visit Primary 2b and we paired up to read some books. The older children were very helpful in giving hints for reading and the younger children were very keen to show off their books and their reading skills. Wow!!! what an amazing first few weeks back at school. We have had such an eventful time including a wonderful Coffee Afternoon with all our new Primary 1 adults . It was lovely to see so many people getting to know each other and meeting the P1 staff and Literacy team. Thank you for coming along and please look out for the next informal event. P7b been working very hard so far. We have been doing maths, English, Spanish, French and much more. In maths we have done whole numbers, some people were finding it easier and some people, very hard. The author Ross Collins visited Primary 2 and Primary 3/2 today. We had a super time listening to Ross’ experiences of reading, writing and drawing. He read his famous ‘There’s A Bear On My Chair’ and showed the boys and girls how to draw a polar bear. It was also great to see some of our parents at todays session. We had a lovely trip to our school library with our Primary 7 reading buddies! We each read a book from one of the story sacks and we even got to use the puppets and play with the games! Last Thursday P6b enjoyed a visit to the local library. We learned how to use the code cracker to help us find non-fiction books. We also enjoyed hearing the librarians favourite story and she told us about the library’s five finger rule to help us see if a book is too difficult. We then had a chance to look at the books and some of us even chose a book to bring
The boys and girls in P7a had a lovely morning duirng their visit to Barmulloch Library last Friday. We had a chance to browse the wonderful books they had and then chose some to take home. We are looking forward to visiting again soon!
