Today the STARS Team and JRSO’s led a workshop all about the Green Cross Code and how to cross the road safely. They discussed the 6 steps of the Green Cross Code: THINK – is this a safe place to cross? STOP – at the pavement near the kerb. LOOK/LISTEN – for traffic all around. Look left and right! WAIT – till it is safe to cross, let traffic go

Today P7 thoroughly enjoyed harvesting our home grown vegetables and preparing them for our cooking lesson. We harvested potatoes, onions and carrots. We can’t wait to taste our homemade lentil soup!
We would like to say a big thank you to all the parents and carers who attended our ‘Meet the Teacher’ event last week. We had a good turn out and we are delighted that so many of you want to help us by working in partnership to deliver the best learning experiences for our young people. This term our topic is Plants and Life Cycles. We have been planting seeds in class and are carrying out an investigation growing sunflowers and will monitor their progress over the next few weeks. Here we are planting our seeds…we loved getting our hands dirty…Mrs McMillan wasn’t so keen on the mess of the soil after wards!! Hee Hee!!
Last week Miss Smith and some of the P7s took a trip to the allotment. We worked hard as a team to clear up some of the beds. It was hard work but what a difference in a few hours. Well done!
Here are all the bottle tops we collected: We made beautiful pictures – we made a butterfly and 2 flowers. They’re going in a garden at Wallacewell. We had fun with the very nice artists Alwyn and Helen from CLAASH.
Our Eco Heroes will be planting around our school on Thursday 21st April. Look out for them and watch this space for photos! Could all Eco Heroes come to school with old shoes and trousers to keep our school uniforms clean.
