Working together

At our school, we believe that working together with our families is essential to ensuring every child thrives. We are committed to building strong, valued, and positive partnerships with parents and carers, recognising that you are your child’s first and most important educators. When school and home collaborate effectively, we create the best possible conditions for learning, wellbeing, and achievement.

At North Queensferry Primary, we are dedicated to promoting meaningful relationships with our families, built on mutual trust and shared responsibility. By working together, we strive to support every child to achieve their full potential and to feel safe, included, and nurtured within our school community.

We value collaboration and aim to ensure that decisions are made with families. Our shared priorities include, promoting high-quality learning and teaching, supporting children’s wellbeing, building confidence, independence, and resilience and ensuring equality of opportunity for all.

Attendance is a vital part of every child’s success. We work closely with families to remove barriers to attendance and ensure that children feel motivated, supported, and ready to learn. Together, we aim to encourage positive routines and a shared understanding of the importance of everyday learning.

We recognise and value the diverse needs of our learners. Through collaborative planning and a child-centred approach, we strive to ensure that every child can participate fully, learn confidently, and succeed.

Placing children and families at the heart of all we do ensures that support is coordinated, strengths-based, and tailored to each child’s wellbeing needs. Working hand-in-hand with families, we aim to ensure that every child is safe, healthy, achieving, nurtured, active, respected, responsible, and included.

Every year we engage in lessons which help support young people in understanding their bodies, changes and how to have difficult conversations with trusted adults. Please take time to have a look at the attached image to support these important conversations with your child.

Fresh Air Frankie

We welcomed Fresh Air Frankie to our assembly to help with our school travel plan.

We received our Bronze certificate for travelling to school and we are working towards gaining our Silver and Gold awards. We can do this by walking, cycling, or scooting to school rather than use the car where possible. If a car is required then we can work towards this by doing a Park and Stride where we park around by the church or somewhere away from the school, and walking the rest of the way. This keeps the school accessible and more car free. It also gives a wee fresh air walk in preparation for coming into school.

Welcome back!

Welcome back to a new school year for all our pupils. Particular warm welcome to our new Primary 1 pupils who are starting their school journey and to our Primary 7’s continuing their journey at High School as 1st Years.

We would like to welcome Miss Whitford to our Primary 3/4/5 class, and wish her all the best for her time with us.

We look forward to our year and excited to see what learning opportunities it brings.

Please keep looking on our class pages to see some of the learning and experiences your child is having in school.

Class based Stem activities

Primary 1/2 have been having a great time over the past few weeks exploring our STEM resources.

We have been building dens linked to our literacy and class reading, made wonderful moving structure with the cogs and wheels and creating models with pipes and connectors.

During each of these experiences we have focused on identifying and developing our skills for life, with problem solving being the biggest one to understand.

Our trial and error approach has and will, continue to develop our creativity and thinking skills.

We are looking forward to building our dens outside and sharing our skills with other pupils.
