26/8/22

In primary 3/4/5 this week we have been learning to use think boards to explore different strategies with partners, to find out ways to work out number problems.  We looked at multiplication and division this week. We have been using gallery walks to assess each other’s work and find new and ideas for ourselves.

We are learning to WAGOLL. This stands for What A Good One Looks Like. This helps us to be inspired by a good piece of work and helps us understand what the expectation is.  We created posters to show what was needed in literacy and numeracy work for good presentation and content.

We have been setting ourselves targets to achieve in numeracy and literacy targets so help us understand what we need to learn to get even better at our work.

Our handwriting skills have been put to the test with Mrs Waugh this week. We used this time to practise our days of the week and months of the year.

Our new small topic is about Minibeasts.  We created posters about What we know, What we want to know, How will we find out and How will we present our information. Then we went outside and looked for minibeasts in the garden before we tried to make detailed drawings of some bugs.

In gym we have been learning to improve our techniques in Shot Putt, relay races and the long jump. We are quite skilled athletes!

We have shown huge kindness and thought to welcome a new pupil to our class. We have been very welcoming and have tried our best to make sure he settles in well to our school.

We welcomed Kev from BeatBox to school and we were part of writing a new school song. Look out for that coming soon…

Mrs Young says we have done a fabulous job this week!
