Hello everyone!
This week we had our final badminton session. We have learned and improved our badminton skills over the past few weeks, big thank you to Isa for leading these sessions. We are also continuing our learning in hockey with Mrs Gaze.
In spelling, we were learning about compound words and tips for remembering how to spell these. We created ‘compound coordinates’ games for partners to complete. We continued our learning of instructional writing and are writing instructions on how to trap or look after a mythical creature. To support our instructional writing, we learned about adverbs and how we can use these to uplevel our writing.
In preparation for the P7s going to Ardroy, we learned about John Muir, to support us in working towards achieving the John Muir award. We watched videos about his life and how his work supported the environment and how we can help too. We walked 1000 steps, inspired by the story of his 1000-mile walk and had a ‘national park’ tour by the P7s in the secret garden.
In numeracy, we were learning about percentages. We learned how to convert fractions into percentages and are now learning how to find percentages of numerical amounts. In maths, we are moving onto our new topic of money and time.
During our free learning sessions, we worked on developing transferable skills and interests through making feely boards, playing with lego, chess and much more!
Best of luck to the P7s at Ardroy next week, we can’t wait to share lots of pictures and stories from our time away!
