Hello everyone!
Our next step in spelling this week was learning about homonyms and using these in context to apply our understanding of words that are spelt the same but can have different meanings. We have continued our comprehension learning with Mrs Gaze and newspaper writing based on our class novel (Goldfish Boy) with Miss Chamberlain.
Our focus in numeracy this week has been using column strategy to solve addition and subtraction. Our next step is to apply this learning to solve word problems using the various strategies we have been learning. We have also been learning about coordinates with Mrs Gaze.
With Mrs Scouller, we have continued learning about emotion works and are planning to share our Mr Men inspired stories with P1/2/3 next week! In PE, we learned another Scottish Country Dance, which we are excited to share at shared learning on 1st December (9:10). We have also continued our learning about athletics, in preparation for the athletics competition next Wednesday.
We have been continuing our topic of forces this week, with a focus on learning about air resistance. We learned how to conduct a fair test, in order to test if parachutes that we made increased air resistance. We also had our final drama lesson from Miss Trotter, in which we were learning about creating and playing different characters using the masks we made last week. We have really enjoyed having Miss Trotter teaching us drama and will miss her!
Hope you all have a lovely weekend!
