We welcomed Fresh Air Frankie to our assembly to help with our school travel plan.
We received our Bronze certificate for travelling to school and we are working towards gaining our Silver and Gold awards. We can do this by walking, cycling, or scooting to school rather than use the car where possible. If a car is required then we can work towards this by doing a Park and Stride where we park around by the church or somewhere away from the school, and walking the rest of the way. This keeps the school accessible and more car free. It also gives a wee fresh air walk in preparation for coming into school.
Welcome back to a new school year for all our pupils. Particular warm welcome to our new Primary 1 pupils who are starting their school journey and to our Primary 7’s continuing their journey at High School as 1st Years.
We would like to welcome Miss Whitford to our Primary 3/4/5 class, and wish her all the best for her time with us.
We look forward to our year and excited to see what learning opportunities it brings.
Please keep looking on our class pages to see some of the learning and experiences your child is having in school.
Primary 1/2 have been having a great time over the past few weeks exploring our STEM resources.
We have been building dens linked to our literacy and class reading, made wonderful moving structure with the cogs and wheels and creating models with pipes and connectors.
During each of these experiences we have focused on identifying and developing our skills for life, with problem solving being the biggest one to understand.
Our trial and error approach has and will, continue to develop our creativity and thinking skills.
We are looking forward to building our dens outside and sharing our skills with other pupils.
In Scotland, all children aged 2 to 5 years (not yet in school) offered the nasal (nose) spray flu vaccine.
To help raise awareness about the nasal (nose) spray vaccine and how it’s the easiest and safest way for children to get protected against flu, Public Health Scotland is launching a brand-new campaign titled ‘Help beat flu with a wee scoosh’.
We’ve developed a suite of static and video assets, alongside suggested captions and alternative textfor you to share across your social media channels. Please feed these into your planned activity regularly using the hashtag #WeeScoosh. Using the hashtag is important as it allows us to monitor usage, and helps to informs future campaigns.
Please feel free to share these resources with any relevant channels or networks.
There are also a range of resources available on the Public Health Scotland website for children aged 2-5including informed consent leaflets, briefings and videos.
We would like to wish all our North Queensferry families a wonderful festive season. Well done for all your hard work this term. Enjoy the holidays and making memories.
We are so proud of our older pupils who have taken on the roles of learning buddies to support and encourage younger pupils in their learning. You are continuing to hold the values of the school by displaying determination, ambition and respect for others in their stages of learning.
We are lucky to have such a wonderful set of role models for our school. Great work everyone.
Well done to Primaries 3 and 4 for representing the school at the Athletics Festival on Wednesday 29th November. You did an amazing job with your behaviour and attitudes to the challenge and to other people you met during the experience.
We are so proud of how you worked hard together and showed excellent determination throughout the morning, mirroring our school values. Fabulous work everyone!
Thank you to all adults who took the time to come and celebrate St Andrew’s day with us on Thursday 30th November. We had a wonderful time showing off our hard work with our Scottish Country Dancing.
Thank you also for the enthusiasm shown at the end of the shared Learning by joining in with pupils to dance the Gay Gordons together. Great memories created for all involved.
