Welcome to Benarty Primary School website.

At Benarty Primary School we work in partnership with pupils, parents, staff and the wider community to create a secure and happy environment which provides the highest possible standard of education to meet the needs of all.

Our school Values focus our whole school community on what everyone agreed was most important for us. In Benarty P.S. we ASPIRE in all we do and say. By showing these values in our school, we are creating positive conditions for children to learn and thrive.

Benarty Primary offers spacious and well laid out classrooms for the children. Our aim is to offer our pupils a safe, secure and caring environment in which to learn. We also want to ensure that all of the children maximise their potential.

The school itself is a large primary school with 11 mainstream classes. The roll of the mainstream school is around 301. There are four Additional Support classes which currently have a total of ?? children attending from the wider geographical area.

Benarty Primary is situated on Lochleven Road, Lochore.   Over 30 years ago, the school was originally a Junior Secondary School.  Therefore, our facilities are spacious and include large classrooms, an assembly hall, gym hall, dinning hall and numerous shared spaces for classes to work together.

We have extensive grounds to facilitate outdoor learning.

The school day is from 9 am to 3 pm, Monday – Friday.

Benarty has a Nursery with up to 30 children each morning and 30 children each afternoon. Dunmore Nursery also comes under Benarty’s headship.

The curriculum which the school offers is broad-based and in line with guidelines given to all Scottish schools under the control of local authorities. Within the tight framework we try to ensure that the curriculum is presented in interesting and motivating ways to the children. We try to encourage education in the community and the local environment because we believe that this adds something to children’s understanding of themselves.

The school has a Parent Council and parents are frequent visitors with some helping in the school. We actively encourage parental involvement and promote an open door policy. We are always happy to discuss any aspects of the work going on in school.
