What your child should wear to nursery and what they should bring

What your child should wear to nursery:

Learning can be messy. Your child will likely get covered in paint, glue and mud during their nursery session. Please dress your child in older clothes for their nursery session.

Please make sure your child has a bag which can be left in nursery with spare clothes. We do have a limited number of spare clothes but please make sure your return borrowed nursery clothes. We are always grateful for donations of leggings, t-shirts, pants and especially socks!

As the children are involved in physical activities/play every day it is very important that they are appropriately dressed. We ask that your children do not wear any jewellery as this can be a health/safety risk.

What they should bring:

  • pants (or nappies or pull ups) Please put nappies/pull ups/pants and spare clothes in a bag which will stay in nursery
  • spare socks
  • trousers, leggings and tops
  • if children come to nursery in wellies we ask they have a pair of indoor shoes to change into
  • try to avoid lace up shoes as this makes it more difficult for your child to be independent
  • write your child’s name inside every piece of clothing
  • a coat
  • dress your child for the weather – sun hats on sunny days and hats, gloves and scarf for the cold weather
