P7

Our first afternoon as a class!
Class Teacher – Mrs Lindsay Farmer
Pupil Support Assistant – Mrs Nicola Drummond

Hi there, my name is Lindsay Farmer and I will be teaching Primary 7 this year and we will be supported by Nicola Drummond. I have worked in Benarty from 2009 so hopefully everyone will recognise me. Most of my teaching careeer has been with infant classes and this will be my first year teaching an upper class since 2006, which I am very excited and nervous about.

As most of you will know I live in the Benarty community with my family and dog Baillie. I enjoy reading, watching movies and spending time with my family and friends.

We will be working in room 22 and children should line up outside the red door in the uppper playground.

In term 1 we focussed on developing the young workforce and skills for life and work through our enterprise topic. The classes had the opportunity to learn about what makes a successful business and apply these skills when creating their own. As well as this both classes have ran a pupil led tuck shop each week and have currently raised over £1200!

During term 2 we explored different science experiments, art and report writing through our Natural Disasters topic. We enjoyed recreating natural disasters in creative ways and had the opportunity to display our work at a learning showcase.

This term we have been learning all about the Scottish Wars of Independence and the different famous figures which shaped Scotland’s history such as William Wallace and Robert the Bruce. We also got the chance to develop this learning further in a trip to Stirling Castle.
