P6/7

Class Teacher – Miss Kemp

Pupil Support Assistant – Miss Fraser

Hello, I am Miss Kemp, the teacher of P6/7 this year. I am thrilled to be part of Benarty Primary School’s community this year and getting to know all the learners and their families. You can find our class in Room 23 and we line up by the trim trail.

Days to remember:

  • Gym days: Monday and Thursday. Please make sure children come to school wearing appropriate gym clothes.
  • Eco Garden Day: Wednesday afternoon. This is weather permitting and will become more regular with the better weather condition. Please make sure children have suitable outdoor clothes on this day.
  • Gathering: Wednesday and Friday.
  • ASPIRE groups: Friday afternoon.

Miss Fraser and I aim to create a calm, rich learning environment for all our learners and celebrate all our achievements. If your child has any out of school achievements they’d like to share please send us information or photos on Seesaw so we can share with the rest of the class.

Every learner has a Glow account in which they can access a variety of educational platforms including Microsoft Office which we often use in school.

The class took a trip to the National Mining Museum. They learned all about the history of coal mining. They enjoyed wearing hard hats and touring around with their informative guides.

P6 have taken part in a ‘Mini-Medics’ training day and they all achieved their certificate. They enjoyed sharing their experience with P5 and some of them have gained some inspiration for a possible future career in this area.

P6 were fortunate to go on a curling taster day with Active Schools. They took the bus to Kirkcaldy Ice Rink where they learned the basic skills to curling. Everyone had a great day.

The class enjoyed a football taster session in which they practised skills and played games against each other. The children that enjoyed the sessions joined the community football club.

P5/6 ran a bake sale to raise money for school funds. They decorated all sorts of biscuits, cakes and traybakes and used their skills in money to ensure all customers were satisfied with their purchase.

The class sang beautifully at the Christmas carol concert. They sang ‘O’Come All ye Faithful’ and ‘Away in a Manger’. Both excellent performances can be viewed on Seesaw.
