MOD FEVER

Tolsta Primary School Choir headed off to the Mod this morning to sing in the Unison Singing competition for Schools with under 70 pupils.  They are singing “Oh Hi Ri Ri, Tha e Tighinn” and Miss Mackinnon is conducting them. All the best guys!

And They’re Off!

Primary 6 and 7 pupils from Tolsta School and Primary 7 Pupils from Sgoil a’ Bhac all headed off this morning on their residential school trip to Alltnacriche Outdoor Centre near Aviemore. We hope they have a fab time and all come home safe and sound and in one piece on Wednesday evening.

A FANTASTIC NIGHT!

Congratulations to the girls of Back and Tolsta who last night won their Netball competition in the Lewis Sports Centre in style! This session there were not enough girls in Sgoil a’ Bhac to make two teams for Netball and so an invitation was extended to the P6-7 girls in Tolsta School to join them. Six girls from Tolsta joined the Sgoil a’ Bhac girls weekly for Netball coaching and practice and new friendships were formed over the course of the session. When it came time to enter the annual Netball Competition in the Sport and Health Team’s calendar two mixed teams comprising the girls from Back and Tolsta were entered. To our amazement and utter delight the teams took 1st and 2nd place in the competition. A massive well done to BTTB and the BT Bone Crushers. We also wish to extend our heartfelt thanks to the three coaches of the teams Angela Mackay, Margaret Macritchie and Norma Maciver who give up their time every Wednesday afternoon to coach the girls and put them through their paces. Well done ladies. Your efforts have helped to ensure that the pupils from Tolsta Primary School experience success along with their Sgoil a’ Bhac friends.

TCDL PRESENTATION OF BOOK TOKENS

The school was very pleased to receive a visit from the TCDL Committee on Wednesday 13th December 2017. The Committee came to present a £20 book token to every child in the school for Christmas. We are most grateful to TCDL for their generosity towards our pupils and hope that all the children will enjoy choosing new books with their tokens.

BLYTHSWOOD SHOEBOX ASSEMBLY

We were absolutely delighted to have Rhona Matheson from Blythswood in Sgoil a’ Bhac on Wednesday 11th October 2017 for a joint Assembly with Sgoil a’ Bhac and Tolsta Primary School. Rhona came to tell us all about the Shoebox Appeal for this year.

Shoebox leaflets were distributed to all pupils earlier in the month and already we are seeing them coming in. Please have your shoeboxes in school by Friday 3rd November 2017
