Last Week before Christmas

The children have worked so hard this term and it has really flown by. I wish to say how proud I am of all their efforts in all areas. It is very difficult to narrow it down to a few highlights but a few to name are their writing work,  their kindness to others and the trip to Sky Studios which really highlighted how talented our class is and how hard working they can all be. They represented our school impeccably.

There has also been many children raising money for charities this term. Cancer Research, Guide Dogs for the Blind, MND Scotland are the charities that received money. A huge well done to them as it is so important to remember to give a little, especially at this time of year. Mrs Thomas.

Isla Walker will leave us this week to travel to Australia to begin a new life there and we wish her the best of luck on her new adventure.

Highlights of my last week at Busby have been that I have really enjoyed making Christmas cards and I chose to make one that has baubles on the front and is sparkly with glitter. I really liked doing the Winter poem. My poem was called the snow and it was an acrostic poem. The party was really fun on Monday afternoon! The best bit about the party was doing the best dancer and dancing away to lots of songs.

I have had a really good time here at Busby and I’m quite excited about going to Australia but I will miss my Busby friends.  Hope to stay in touch with some of you. xx Isla xx

This term I have really enjoyed my time on the computer after doing my literacy work. I have been playing cool maths games and Kodu which is a coding game. My favourite thing this term has been drawing and Knex challenges. Adam.

I have really enjoyed this week’s art activities where I made a Christmas card and a tree decoration. My winter poem was called White Winter and I made it rhyme! This term my favourite things have been maths and art. Katie.

This term I had something awful happen, I broke my foot! It happened in the playground and it was really painful but I cam e back to school fairly quickly so that I could see my friends and still work hard. Mrs Thomas gave me a values award for returning to school despite still being in pain and working so hard when I got back.  I have really loved being in my group for our Ocean Planet topic. I really enjoyed working with my team, I got the opportunity to be a leader and I sometimes enjoyed it but found it a bit tricky at times. I cant wait for Christmas! Tabitha x

Highlights of this week…..

Christmas is coming fast….

This week I have enjoyed doing Flexible Friday and doing the Advent calendar each day which tells us a new story about something to do with Christmas – a fact! I liked going to the P7 shop this week which was called Virgin Money. I bought 2 snowmen which are stress relievers filled with rice…I have now adopted them!  Louisa

I have enjoyed making our IDL plastic pollution solution machine – Its called Dolly the Dolphin!  Dolly is going to be sent into our oceans and it sucks in plastic and when it runs out of room inside there is a sticky material on the outside that can continue sticking plastic on to it. It repels sea life.  I also liked creating the little friendship booklet. Megan.

I have enjoyed designing my own Christmas card and tree hanging decoration and I’m looking forward to making them next week. I have liked doing maths and my group were doing multiplying by 10 and dividing by 10 using the place value chart. I liked completing my friendship booklet which made me think about how I should always treat them well and how much they mean to me. Jessica.
