Park Adventures!

We had a great trip to Rouken Glen Park on Tuesday where we enjoyed completing a scavenger hunt, eating ice-cream and playing in the park. We all had so much fun and loved getting to go on our first trip. A big thank you to our parent volunteers for coming along with us!

   

We also enjoyed exploring our Woodland cafe, climbing and den building in our Woodland this week.

Health Week!

We have had an amazing action packed week! We have has so much fun during our Health Week and have loved enjoying lots of different sports.

We loved getting to try Karate, Judo and Taekwondo.

We also enjoyed learning all about Hockey and Boccia.

Mrs Lamont took us for Orienteering and we had great fun finding each spot to complete the map.

To finish off the week we had an amazing time at our Sports Day and completing our Sports Quiz from the Sports Committee.

Colour Run Fun!

Outdoors, New Planets and More!

This week we have been working on the skill of skimming ans scanning. We had to scan the pages to find different words and pictures in the text.

We enjoyed creating our own Planets and wrote lots of great details about them, we think that our rainbow doughnut planets would be a super addition to the Solar System. We also created our own Solar system and we think it looks amazing.

We has great fun at our Woodland this week where we had lots of climbing, den building and team work.

We are continuing to develop our digital technology skills and had great fun designing and drawing our own characters.

Planting, The Sun and More!

We have had another busy week in P1C!

We have continued with our Space Topic and this week we learnt about the Sun. We know that the Sun is in the centre of the Solar System and is made of gas and is much much larger than Earth! We also learnt how to stay safe in the sun. We created our own Sun catchers that look amazing in our classroom.

We have been enjoying Drama and this week we had to use our bodies and facial expressions to show different emotions. Can you guess which each one is?

We have also been learning about what seeds needs to grow and how to plant seeds. We had great fun planting beans and we re making sure that we are watering them and keeping an eye out for them growing.

We were also lucky enough to have two amazing singing and drama performances by the cast of P1C in our play areas!

 

Another Great Week in P1C!

We have been working hard on our prediction skills this week, we used the front covers of our reading books to predict what we thought may happen in our stories. We have also been working hard on our tricky words and sounds.

This week we have been learning all about Ramadan and celebrating Eid. Our classmates who celebrate Eid told us about their family celebrations and we made Eid lanterns and our own mehndi designs.

 

Space, Woodland Adventures and More!

This week we have started our new Space topic and we  have really enjoyed learning about the Solar System and all the different planets. We created our own Space stories and Solar System pictures.

We have also been working hard on our number bonds and addition and subtraction calculations. We have been using lots of different materials to help us solve our calculations.

We have been learning about line and created our own line figures using pipe cleaners. We added lines to our drawing to add more detail, we were super impressed at our great work.

We have been working hard on our reading skills and we created our own sentence chains making sure that we sounded out each word and used capital letters and full stops.

We also had great fun exploring our woodland and we especially enjoyed seeing it upside down!

Earth Day and More!

It has been so lovely having all the pupils back after the holidays and we have had a great first week back. For Earth Day, we enjoyed sharing our ideas about we can look after the planet and we decided that we are all going to try and think carefully about how we can recycle and reuse in our class.

We have been continuing to consolidate all our sounds and have been working hard to make different words with all our sounds.

In Maths, we are continuing to hard on addition and subtraction calculations.

Easter Fun in P1C!

This week we enjoyed learning about the story of Easter and why we celebrate Easter. We also enjoyed creating our own Easter chicks.

We have been practising counting amounts of money and enjoyed working out how much money was in each egg. We have also been working hard on our addition and subtraction.

Outdoors this week, our cafe was back in action with their new spring menu on offer- the food was really yummy! We also had obstacle courses and amazing creations with the large loose parts.

Splendid Smoothies and More in P1C!

We have had another busy week in P1C!

This week we have been working hard on our prediction skills. When we were reading our reading books the last page was covered up and we had to predict what happened at the end of the story. It was great fun and we made great predictions making sure they were relevant to the story.

This week we have been exploring colour and colour mixing, we created our own colour wheels and enjoyed experimenting mixing different colours together to see what colours we could make.

Outdoors we enjoyed the sunny weather! We had great fun collecting different materials to make our own nature self portraits. We also had great fun making an huge obstacle course and working on our balancing skills!

We have continued to learn about healthy and unhealthy food. We created our own yummy lunches making sure we had one item from each food group, they all looked so yummy and tasty!

As we have been learning about healthy eating we decided to create our own splendid smoothie!  We selected what fruit we wanted in our smoothies and carefully cut them up and added them to our blender. We created some amazing and tasty smoothies, so it was a thumbs up from us!
