A Great Week in P1C!

We had so much fun out in the snow making our class snowman, having snowball fights and making snow angels.

We have been working hard on addition and subtraction calculations this week and are continuing to explore the link between the two.

Our writing task this week was to imagine we were flying in a bubble like the girl in the story – the children chose such a vast range of places that they would like to visit.

For Mother Tongue Week, we enjoyed learning different ways to say hello and creating bunting to decorate the school. We also worked so hard to learn twinkle twinkle in British sign language.

Our construction area has been very popular this week and I think we will have many future architects. We have had castles, hotels and space rockets! It has been amazing to see all the super models and they have sparked great discussion.

A Great Week in P1C!

This week we decided we wanted to learn about different transport. We looked at how we can travel different ways and compared vehicles from the past and present. We had great fun making our own modes of transport outside and in our construction area. We had amazing things like space rockets, flying scooters and lightening speed super jets!

This week we also enjoyed making our own 3D models. We looked at the different ways we join things to together to create our model.

In Maths, we are continuing to work on our number bonds to 10 and our fact families for our addition and subtraction calculations.

Supertato in P1C!

Our story of the week was Supertato by Sue Hendra and there had been a Supertato incident in our classroom and we had to put on our detective hats and work out what had happened to Supertato and the vegetables. We also enjoyed creating our own Supertato and a new front cover for the book.

We then used our super veggies and supertato to create some artwork!

We have been working hard creating our own surveys and creating our own bar graph and class bar graph to help develop our data handling skills.

We are continuing to develop our digital technology skills and enjoyed using the bee-bots and mats to direct the bee-bot to a certain location.
