- At St. Joseph’s Primary, we take great pride in supporting our pupils through the transition from primary to secondary school, ensuring they feel confident and well-prepared for this important step in their educational journey.
- We understand that this transition can be both exciting and daunting, so we provide a range of activities to help our students adjust. Before leaving, our pupils have the opportunity to visit the secondary schools they’ll attend, where they can explore the facilities, meet new teachers, and take part in taster lessons that spark their curiosity.
- We also work closely with the secondary schools to share important information about each child’s strengths, learning styles, and needs, so they receive the right support from day one.
- Our staff ensure that every pupil feels seen, heard, and supported, and we often have senior pupils from the secondary schools come back to visit in different capacities.
- By providing these opportunities, we aim to help our pupils build confidence, feel excited about their next steps, and make the transition as smooth as possible.
