Dyslexia Club
Overview of Dyslexia Club
At St Joseph’s, our Dyslexia Club plays a vital role in celebrating and empowering pupils with dyslexia, creating a positive and inclusive environment that boosts their confidence and self-esteem.
The club allows pupils to embrace their strengths and unique learning styles, with assistive technologies like Microsoft Reading Coach, touch typing, Chromebook features, and AI tools enhancing their learning experience.
These technologies help our students improve reading, writing, and organisational skills, enabling them to take charge of their learning journey.
Our school walls and displays celebrate the achievements of these students, showcasing their creativity and innovation.
The club also encourages pupils lacking in confidence to bring a friend along, promoting awareness and support within the wider school community.
The impact has been overwhelmingly positive, with high attendance rates from pupils with an identification and a noticeable increase in confidence among our pupils.
By giving pupils the opportunity to lead and propose new ideas, we nurture their problem-solving abilities, helping them think outside the box and contribute to a more inclusive school environment.
