Doosan Babcock are looking to recruit 6 Technical Apprentices to join their technology team. They are holding an Open Evening on Thursday 5th May to provide parents and pupils with a full overview of the business, the apprenticeship programme and a tour.

EIS/Fela members in Scottish colleges are schedules to take strike action on Thursday 17th March 2016. In these circumstances the colleges have decided not to deliver school programmes on 17 March 2016 for health and safety reasons.
Instead of attending college, pupils should bring their own materials to revise for their school subjects or for their vocational course. They should report to Room E1 at the start of period 5, where they will be registered.
Pupils attending the Fashion Brand Retail course at Glasgow Caledonian University will not be affected and should attend as usual.

Scottish Apprenticeship Week is from 29th February to 4th March.
Glasgow Economic Leadership (GEL) Finance and Business Services (FBS) are supporting Skills Development Scotland (SDS) with the annual Scottish Apprenticeship Week (SAW) campaign.
Activities include:
Tours to FBS companies from across the sector
Teacher/Career Guidance Workshop – NEW (Thursday 3rd March)
Teacher Apprentice Visits (throughout week)
Employer Modern Apprentice Event (employers only Wednesday 2nd March)
Parent Event – NEW (Tuesday 1st March)
The tours provide young people with opportunities to; learn more about the participating company, look round the office environment, learn how companies recruit, including internship, graduate, school leaver & apprenticeship programmes and meet members of the organisation. They would be particularly helpful for any pupil considering a career in Finance and Business Services.

There is an exciting opportunity for a school leaver aged between 16-19 to work within the Developing Young Workforce and Opportunities for All team, gaining experience of administrative work and working towards an SVQ level 3 in Business and Admin. This may also offer the opportunity to progress to SVQ level 3 Youth Worker.
