The sixth year are holding a raffle in order to raise funds for their yearbook and pron. Tickets will be on sale from Monday 30th January in the Open Area. Tickets will also be available for family and friends.
Prizes include a meal for two at the Eglinton Arms Hotel, Eaglesham. Meal for two at The Swan, Eaglesham. Meal for two at Clark & Sons, Clarkston. A round of Golf at Mearns Castle Golf Academy. Cut and blow dry at Andrew Kay Hairdressers. Tickets for a top football match at Hampden.
The winners will be announced week beginning 20th February .
Mr Sorley has sent a letter home to remind parents that our S1 Parents’ Meeting will take place on Thursday 2nd February 2011 between 16:30 and 19:00. Click here to read the letter.
Mr Sorley has sent home a letter to S1 parents inviting them to an Curriculum for Excellence Evening which will take place on Monday 23rd January between 7.00pm-8.00pm.
The purpose of the meeting is to share with parents the progress Mearns Castle is making implementing Curriculum for Excellence in S1 and the subsequent changes to assessment and reporting procedures.
Please note that the evening sessions for this forum in February and May will not now take place. Theses dates were not included in the letter to parents but remained on the Education departmental calendar.
The format of this forum is under review with the possibility of a larger scale event nearer the end of session 2011-12. Further information will be shared later this term.
