Pupils interested in Law

One Profession, Many Journeys campaign

Designed to appeal to young people considering their career choices after school, we hope that it will inspire students to consider a career as a solicitor, and in particular to inspire students who may have thought they did not have the “right” background for a career as a solicitor.

This features 5 solicitors at various stages of their careers, and from a variety of backgrounds. Each one is featured on an image setting out where they were as a young person and where they are now, and there is a longer piece on our website setting out their journey which you can link to here: https://www.lawscot.org.uk/qualifying-and-education/our-work-with-schools/one-profession-many-journeys/

Lawscot Foundation:

The closing date for Lawscot Foundation applications is coming up on 19 June.

This is a Foundation that provides financial and mentoring support to students who are:
• considering studying law (the LLB) in Scotland, commencing in autumn 2020
• facing significant financial barriers

The support provided is a bursary package of £2,500 per year during their studies, a solicitor mentor to assist with careers advice and offer them many career development opportunities. https://www.lawscotfoundation.org.uk/students/apply-now/
